In this episode of Bikes Included we talk to Dave Forster, owner of Dave's Bike Shop in Raymore, MO and creator of the #BIKEITOUT movement to promote how biking can help with mental health, anxiety and stress relief.
In this Episode we sit down with Jake Jacobson. Jake is a runner, cyclist and started the Team Garmin twitter account as PR Director from the back of a van at the 2005 Tour De France. He's a civic leader and has been actively involved in the cycling / athletic community donating his time as a board member to organizations like BikeWalkKC. He has also led fundraising efforts over the years for multiple BikeMS teams helping to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for non profits around the metro. He's also part of an investor group that brought Spokes Coffee Cafe Cyclery to downtown KC. Spokes was kind enough to let us borrow their space to record this discussion.
This week's guest is Betsy Wren Zapien. 9 year old BMX phenom from Lee's Summit, Missouri. In this episode I get to listen to her talk about how racing BMX bikes makes her feel. I hope you enjoy.
This week I had a chance to sit down with JP Shores. JP is a stud. He's been very influential in the kansas city cycling community. He's a local cycling community advocate. He has organized and run several group rides in the area, and he's been racing/riding bikes pretty much his whole life. If it weren't for JP I never would've gotten into bikes like I did. I'm honored that he's the first guest on our podcast.
